I haven’t been well for ages. Years actually. Well not unwell as such but just so tired all the time. I go to bed tired, I wake up tired. I ache constantly and the weight is creeping on. If I get up and stay up before 9am then I have to go to bed at 4/5pm for a couple of hours, and then to bed at midnight for a full night’s sleep. If I don’t need to get up early, I go back to bed until 10 or 11am. Either way I’m needing about 10 or 11 hours sleep in a 24 hour period.
It’s not that I’m oversleeping or anything. I can fall asleep anywhere. I fight it but my face feels heavy, my eyelids droop and I feel so old and worn out.
I’m really feeling the cold now too, even waking up in the middle of the night under two feather duvets feeling sooo cold. All in all I have symptoms of hypothyroidism which just so happens to run in my family, my mum, her mum and her aunty all have it, two are being treated for it, my mother had a goiter removed. I’ve been talking it over with Cindy and a lot of our symptoms are so similar. Fortunately for me I haven’t been anywhere near as bad as Cinds was but I don’t want to get that bad before a damn doctor will listen to me! I LIKE my eyebrows.
I had my bloods taken and checked 6 months ago and they came back clear, with the recommendation to get retested in 6 months time. I have been rechecked and again they are clear (T1, T2, T3 and T4). I’m also getting checked for diabetes. Sometimes being told you are okay is not a good thing, not when you are still symptomatic of something. There is clearly something wrong with me, I’m only 36 for goodness sake (well, will be in a couple of weeks) not 86!
I’m feeling quite sad at the moment.

Anna,
((((HUGS))))
I didn`t know you were feeling so un-well and sleeping so much. I thought it was me making you fall asleep
I know what its like to go though having all those blood tests, i due for one on Friday, and its a fasting too, no food or drink for 14-16 hours!!!!
Well just try and take it easy for the next few days, thats if its possible!
xx
GO PRIVATE!! Don’t listen to the NHS docs they haven’t a bloody clue. Just because your results come back in their little graph of what is alright between the ages of 4 and 104 does not mean that YOU are OK. You do have all the symptoms apart from hairloss that I had, you really need to go see a specialist Anna, don’t rely on the local quacks for sorting you out, they deal with so many patients with so many problems on a daily basis of course your case isn’t going to stand out, unless of course you walked in half bald and no eyebrows! .. But I dont recommend it, there are other ways.
Mike unfortunately taking it easy is all you can do, you troop on because you have to but feel so shit you honestly want to curl up in a ball and literally sleep forever! ;(
I know how you feel Anna. Keep making those appointments and get someone to actually LISTEN to you. xxx
Hugs, Cindersx
I didn’t know you were not feeling like yourself either! ( you sure your not related to Cindy someway )
You take heed to her words she posted and I wish ya the best of health in the New Year as well!
Thanks for the warm welcome and I’m glad I made your day by giving ya a couple surprizes now too!
