AbuseTube

YouTube is one of my favourite sites. I love finding funny videos but even better I like to find loads of music, current and past favourites that I can listen to whilst I’m surfing around or working.

One of the facilities on YouTube is that you can leave comments. I seriously believe that if YouTube want to stay online they need to turn this off NOW. I have never seen such illiterate foul mouthed spew in such a small otherwise inoffensive arena. Swearing, racism, sexism, homophobia, the type of abuse is never ending … all written by illiterate morons who feel snug and safe behind their keyboard.

I was looking up one of my favourite tracks ‘Comfortable Numb’ by Pink Floyd and covered by Scissor Sisters, and I was saddened by the abuse between those who think that one is better than the other. I mean, it just doesn’t matter does it? The homophobia about Scissor Sisters was particularly unpleasant and I’m fairly sure that children can easily access the music videos.

For the record I think Pink Floyd’s is better as it suits the topic of the song, but I do like what Scissor Sisters did too
